Snowmobile Trail Reports 2016-17 Archives
Today’s forecast is 50 with rain, tomorrow in the 40’s, unless something drastic comes through I think we have seen the end of the season. I do want to thank everyone who stayed at the Great Northern this winter and those that visited the Wolf’s Den. We continue to meet new groups of people every year and of course we have those that have supported us over the years. The friendships formed through snowmobiling are as important to us as the business we operate. Thank you to everyone for another year of great memories! If the big snow storm arrives in March you will hear it here first.
Thank you again,
Eric Behnke & Staff

Trail Report
Conditions Fair to Poor
Date March 2
Overall temps have stayed cold and most of the trails have froze back up solid. We did have a sunny couple days early part of the week and lost a lot of the snow we gained last week. Bottom line if you want to ride on fair trails come on up, if you are going to complain about some bare spots in town and blacktop showing on the crossings then stay home. Sunday and Monday show very warm weather as the rollercoaster winter continues. The Flowsge is no longer markers, but if you know your way the riding is good. Hurley is back out grooming and clubs to the South are also reporting fair conditions.
Temperatures were warm early week and are going to be really warm this weekend. We have been riding all week and conditions are Fair to Poor. Icey corners, bare spots, and the grade is thin. If you want to ride now is the time but it may not last past this week. We will update you as the warm temps move in.

A lot of traffic over the last week, trails took a real beating. However we have a lot of good snow today 6 inches on the ground in Mercer and still coming down. Groomers are out doing their thing we expect the trails to be very good for the weekend. Join us on Friday with DJ Justin Pitlik and Saturday Sliver will be playing 90’s Rock.
Condtions Fair to Good
Snow has been falling the last couple days with more expected this week. Cold temps have firmed up the trails nicely. Groomers have been out working all the trails and reports are coming back very good. Overall conditions are still fair to good as we could use more snow. Most Riders have been very happy with the conditions and say they have not encountered any problems. We’re looking forward to a busy weekend up here and hope you will join the fun. We have our Super Bowl party on Sunday with live music to follow, DJ on Friday, and Stage Hogs band on Saturday night.

Testimonials
“Wedding Fun in the Northwoods”
Loved the Great Northerner. My cousin got married in the back and the staff was awesome and making the stay personal. Bar was a lot of fun and breakfast did the trick. Would recommend 2nd floor for vehicle noise.
We had to stay here due to sell outs further north but were not disappointed. The rooms were big and clean. The hotel has a beautiful sitting area with Wi fi. The hotel is right on the ATV/Snowmobile Trail.
"A Very Nice Stay"
Good price, very large, nice room. I would stay here again. The area has lots to see and do. This facility has everything needed for large or small groups. The staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed our stay and have nothing bad to say about this place. I recommend it.
