Trail Conditions: Poor to Fair
After the busiest season we have seen in the Northwoods it is winding down. Tempetures every day this week reached 50 degrees and will continue to through the weekend. Trails are in poor condition as the melting hit us hard. For the hard core riders you can find some good riding deep in the woods but getting there will be muddy and wet. We want to extend our appreciation to all of you that supported the Great Northern Motel and the Wolf’s Den this winter. Counting the days until we can ride again…
Trail Conditions: Fair to Good
With the 2 plus inches of snow we got the trails didn’t hit the excellent rating yet. but all the trails are ride able ranging from fair to very good, the latter being west, north west & north east. the grade got cleaned up but will take on a lot of traffic this week end. have not heard a complaint from anyone. This Friday we have Dave Steffen Band starting at 9pm and some awesome Valentine’s Day dinner specials for Saturday. Be sure to check out the Manitowish Waters Winter Rendezvous on Saturday.
Trail Conditions: Fair to Good
Warm temperatures and a lot of traffic lead to a really poor weekend of riding last weekend. Sunday we saw the temperatures drop and the snow is starting to fall on Monday. We need a couple days for the Groomers to get the trails back into shape for some good riding this week and into the weekend. Don’t forget to stop in for our Super Bowl party on Sunday and also we have Karaoke on Friday.

Trail Conditions: Good to Great
We just got through one of the busiest weeks of snowmobiling I can remember in the last five years, there were sleds everywhere! A really great week of sledding for the Northwoods. Conditions throughout the weekend were mixed depending on traffic and groomer schedule. However, with the really good weather (-25 right now) and lack of traffic all trails are back in Good/Great condition. The swamps have all frozen and are being groomed. Three inches of fresh powder on Saturday in the Mercer area and riders are reporting Great conditions today. Come enjoy our winter wonderland. Weekends are the Great Northern are filling up fast, so make your reservations today!

“Wedding Fun in the Northwoods”
Loved the Great Northerner. My cousin got married in the back and the staff was awesome and making the stay personal. Bar was a lot of fun and breakfast did the trick. Would recommend 2nd floor for vehicle noise.
We had to stay here due to sell outs further north but were not disappointed. The rooms were big and clean. The hotel has a beautiful sitting area with Wi fi. The hotel is right on the ATV/Snowmobile Trail.

Good price, very large, nice room. I would stay here again. The area has lots to see and do. This facility has everything needed for large or small groups. The staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed our stay and have nothing bad to say about this place. I recommend it.
